Set within @thechestertonhotel - such an intimate and cosy setting for dinner ✨

We tried both the Butter Chicken Thali and Lamb Rogan Josh Thali, each served with rice, raita, daal and a selection of accompaniments, making it a great way to enjoy a variety of flavours in one meal.

The cocktails here are also beautifully presented and definitely add to the overall experience.

To finish, we had the Pistachio Cheesecake, which tasted heavenly and was a lovely sweet ending to the meal.

A really nice spot if you’re looking for somewhere a little more intimate with a dining experience that feels a bit different 🥰

Oxford 📍 bottomless food > bottomless drink 🫢 @bananatreeuk (ad)

To celebrate Thai New Year, Banana Tree is offering a Bottomless Bowls menu where you can order and re-order from a menu of Thai-inspired bowls for £17 per person (when you pre-book) for 90 minutes 🇹🇭

I’ve been to Banana Tree a number of times over the years and have always rated their food, especially for safe vegetarian options, as well as their 2 for 1 drinks deals.

Helen and I enjoyed sharing a few bowls - it’s definitely a good way to sample more dishes than you would usually order. Our highlights were the satay skewers (we ate all the leftover satay sauce even once we’d munched the skewers) and the tofu pad Thai which delivered just the right amount of sweetness 🍜

The standard menu for this deal includes 9 dishes, 3 of which are veggie. We therefore opted to unlock bottomless curries for an extra £4 each, which expanded the number of options to mean we could also order a veggie curry, rice and salt n pepper chips. To truly maximise our experience, we added a veggie pad Thai for another £3 between us. This meant that the deal ended up costing £22.50 per head which is still good value for the amount of food (and we could have re-ordered more if we’d wished to!) but cost a bit more than initially advertised. If you’re a meat or seafood eater the standard menu might suffice, but as a vegetarian or vegan I’d say you should probably pay for the add ons to access a greater variety of dishes 🌱

You order 3 dishes at a time for 2 people, which I think is sensible to manage table space and discourage food waste. The Bottomless Bowls offer is available all day Sunday to Thursday and until 3:30pm on Friday, and must apply to the whole table.

I enjoyed the deal, but overall would probably end up going for one of their classic laksa or noodle dishes next time 🤩

Keeping the warmth and comfort associated with traditional Indian cooking, Dhamroo present dishes in a more contemporary, fine-casual approach, managing to find a balance between authenticity and sophistication.

To experience the diversity Dhamroo has to offer, we decided to go for the Thali, to ensure our tastebuds got a bit of all six flavours; sweet, sour, salty, bitter, astringent and spicy. We also tried the Dhamroo Banquet; a selection of Keralan classics which hit the spot!

I LOVE going out for a curry and Dhamroo really hit the mark 🌶️

A delicious selection of curries, sides and small plates to choose from and you could tell everything was made with such love and so full of flavour!

Highlights were the chilli paneer and the prawn curry for me and the beef curry for Harrison!! There’s nothing worse than an overcooked prawn but these were sooo juicy. Harrison said the beef was tender and everything was perfectly spiced for us. Will definitely be coming back to try more of the curries they have on offer 🧚🏻‍♀️
