ad invite • we spent the evening not only being treated to the most wonderful dinner, but learning all about the @sanpellegrino_official Young Chef academy 👩🏻‍🍳 this is an incredible opportunity for young chefs between 18-30 and applications are open now 🙏🏻 as always, the food and drinks were just out of this world, @chef.stuart.ralston is so creative with his dishes, and they also provided me with the most fabulous alcohol free drinks pairing which was divine - Lyla is so deserving of its star, and should you get the opportunity to dine here, I highly recommend you do 🥰

📍 Sheep Heid Inn, Edinburgh

Finally dropped by the oldest standing pub in Scotland @thesheepheid
The ambience and decor is not very different from newer pubs, but there are plenty of references on the wall and shelves about the history of the place.
There is a garden area to enjoy sunny days with a pint.

The service was below par, and communication didn’t seem a strong point. Had to change tables a couple of times before I found a clean one.

The food was a mixed bag.
- Haggis Bon Bon - really nice
- Lamb Rump with Chorizo - below average at £26.50
- Raspberry Creme Brulee - a disaster of barely bruleed layer of custard over a layer of watery raspberry sauce at the bottom
- Balvenie 12 - always awesome

Might visit in future, but will stick to drinks only.

We’ve got a new arrival in Edinburgh 👀

New York Style Pizza & Pasta bar @flur.edinburgh by Pizza Chef @millennium_falco is now open in @bonnieandwildmarket and what a great addition this is! 🍕

I got to try the pizza and pasta and, wow! It was fantastic! Huge New York style pizzas by the slice, choice of pastas with a Chef’s Special, what more could I ask for?

I’ve tried their Nduja and Hot Honey and the Pepperoni slice and both were just stunning! Paired with the honey & ranch dips it was 10/10

From the pasta options we tried Ziti with Ragu ‚genovese’ and pecorino, really nice and tender beef in white wine with onion and pancetta and topped with pecorino. Yum! And the classic Carbonara which I thought was just perfect! 🤩

Bonnie and Wild offer some great cocktails to go with your meals and my Hugo Spritz paired with my meal perfectly!
