Portobello Pub Company was founded in 2013 and backed by Zetland Capital, building a reputation on characterful neighbourhood pubs across London and the south-east. In 2024 they acquired Darwin & Wallace, seven all-day bar-restaurants across London now trading as The Address Bars. What was a focused pub group now spans cosy locals, seaside drinking and sharp London bar-dining.
That range is the opportunity. A Brighton bottomless dinner and a Sunday roast at an Ealing bar-restaurant belong to different audiences, who follow different creators. The group needs the right creators at the right sites.
Portobello partnered with Joli to run the programme centrally: brief, match and report across the estate from one dashboard. Sunday roasts drive a huge share of the content. Brighton leans into seafront cocktails. Chiswick Fire Station’s monthly supper club gets a tighter, taste-maker treatment.
Every site in the estate, from new acquisitions to flagship bar-restaurants, lands with a pipeline of local creator content pointed at the people most likely to book. As the group keeps acquiring, the creator machine scales with it.
