How Chuku’s Drives Social Media Growth with Joli

Chuku’s, the world’s first Nigerian tapas restaurant, has brought the vibrant flavors and culture of Nigeria to Tottenham, North London. A family-owned gem, Chuku’s has earned recognition as one of the best restaurants in London, offering a menu filled with halal, gluten-free, and vegan options to ensure there’s something for everyone.

As a small team, managing influencer collaborations was a time-consuming challenge for Chuku’s. Coordinating the back-and-forth and requesting content was daunting, especially with limited resources. That’s where Joli came in.

By connecting with a diverse range of influencers through Joli, Chuku’s has been able to create authentic collaborations that not only amplify their reach but also fuel their own social media growth. The content generated by these partnerships brings Chuku’s unique dining experience to life online, inspiring new diners and keeping their community engaged.

For Chuku’s, Joli has become more than a platform—it’s a game-changer in streamlining the influencer process and ensuring their social media presence reflects the vibrant energy of their restaurant.

We’re a small team and it was so hard to manage the back-and-forth ourselves with influencers, but with Joli, it’s so much easier to manage, and it takes the pressure off asking people for content. The breadth of influencers on the platform is great, and it’s introduced us to so many new influencers.

Joli relieves all the constant content pressure we had previously with social media!

🇳🇬 The world’s first Nigerian tapas restaurant has become a MUST VISIT for all Londoners!

📝

Recommendations:
🥞 Sinasir & Miyan Taushe ⭐️
🥘 Egusi Bowl ⭐️
🧆 Suya Meatballs ⭐️
🧇 Plantain Waffle ⭐️

Being the world’s first Nigerian tapas restaurant and been named one of the top fifty restaurants in London by Time Out two years in a row, we had to try them out. There were so many dishes on the menu we wanted to try due to the variety but our stomachs are only able to fit in so much. The Egusi Bowl was one of the many standout dishes offering a modern take on a classic Nigerian favourite. The vibrant and colourful presentation makes this dish stand out along with its flavourful, hearty taste.

Being mine and my brother’s first time trying Nigerian food we thought we would try traditional dishes and tried the Sinasir & Miyan Taushe and Oh My! The hint of sweetness from the rice pancake went so well with the Miyan Taushe which is a creamy pumpkin and peanut stew. We honestly thought this was such a unique choice for diners who are looking to explore Nigerian cuisine beyond the more common dishes.

You have to try their Plantain Waffles which is a delightful and inventive twist on a beloved Nigerian staple. The plantain brings a subtle sweetness, making the waffle light yet satisfying.

We loved that there are many dishes for all including people who are meat lovers, vegan, gluten free or require halal options. Tyla who has just recently joined Chuku’s team made our dining experience even better by being incredibly warm and welcoming. Having authentic flavours and putting your own twist on it is always a challenge but I can confirm this brother and sister duo have done it just right. Must Visit!

Best Nigerian Tapas in London 🇳🇬

A tasty first visit to the charming @chukusldn located in Tottenham & the experience of exploring Nigerian Tapas dishes was incredible.

If you don't have a lot of experience with Nigerian food & it's your first time (like it was for me 🙈) their menu goes into great details about all the dishes, their origin & pictures of how it looks too!

There are far too many great options to choose from & these are a few of the dishes that I devoured:

✨ Cassava & Ata Dindin
✨ Caramel Kuli Kuli Chicken
✨ Egusi Bowl- Dumplings with a tricolour of stews

It is a fantastic way to sample different flavours of Nigeria & the tapas style means that you’re encouraged to try a bit of everything. Unbelievable meal overall⭐️

Must Visit!

This brother and sister duo restaurant, is an all round homage to Nigeria - Nigerian-inspired art, music and of-course food!

Centred on authentic Nigerian flavours, Chuku’s do add a twist making it perfect for everyone - vegan, gluten free and halal options too! Starting with some plantain crisps and cocktails we then tucked into all the tapas.

We hit the quota perfectly getting 7 dishes between 2!
- Jollof Rice 🍚 - Flavoursome & fluffy, a great accompaniment to the other dishes
- Sinasir & Miyan Taushe - the sweet rice pancake had a great contrast to the pumpkin-peanut stew
- Cassava & Ata Din Din - a chip upgrade! Word of advice, ask for scotch bonnet & sweet red pepper sauce on the side if you can’t handle the heat 🌶️🔥
- Egusi Bowl - Definitely one of the most colourful dishes with super fluffy dumplings to soak up the stew flavours!
- Caramel Kuli Kuli Wings - we weren’t expecting them to be as sweet as they were, but not complaining! 🍗
- Shredded Banga Chicken - This was one our favourites with a mild heat level
- Honey Suya Prawns 🦐 - My personal favourite, perfectly cooked prawns in a sweet and spicy sauce of honey & traditional suya

Finishing off with the Yam Brownie, vegan and gluten free!! With the perfect sweet balance to end the meal. 🍫

Must Visit!

Experience the world’s first Nigerian tapas restaurant right here in London!

@chukusldn offers Nigerian flavours with their own twist. The menu consists of sharing plates which come in a whole range of spice levels, from super mild to OMG hot.

For our mild dish we tried the banga prawns - pan fried king prawns glazed with a mild, earthy palm kernel fruit stew. The hot dish we chose was the lamb ayamase - diced lamb in a spicy green pepper sauce. This was one of our favourite dishes, although we wish it was a little spicier for a ‘hot’ dish🔥 Another favourite dish was the caramel kuli kuli wings, which I would highly recommend if you have a sweet tooth.

What we ordered:
- jollof rice
- caramel kuli kuli wings
- suya meatballs
- banga prawns
- egusi bowl
- lamb ayamase
- the eze: tequila, mint, lemonade & zobo
- chapman mocktail: sparkling orange, grenadine, bitters & cucumber

💾 Save for your next dinner in North London!
